Rick Owens is taking over London. As if today's opening of the designer's first pop-up shop — selling the diffusion line DRKSHDW — wasn't enough, he also has plans to get us off our butts and dancing. As Owens explains of the pop-up, "The DRKSHDW collection has been taking on a life of its own. This was a fun way to experiment with thinking about it independently."
But in addition, he's also opening a London version of his Parisian club, Spotlight. "I will be doing a London version of the Spotlight Club — a club that I do sporadically in Paris. Nothing fancy, just a late-night dance party with some friends. I had been missing a dark, seedy dance spot in Paris, so I started one myself." Hmm, dark and seedy, you say? Why Mr. Owens, you are very much speaking our language. Consider our dance shoes dusted off and ready to go. (Vogue)
