You know the old saying about not knowing what you've got until it's gone? Well, that's exactly how we felt when local blogger Apollina Spoto of Apollinas took a hiatus from baking her insanely beautiful cakes. (Although we couldn't be too bummed, because she was enjoying life as a new mommy.) Today, we're delighted to see that she's back to mixing up confectionery and couture, with a brand-new layer cake inspired by Oscar de la Renta's spring '13 runway. Seriously, this is the most beautiful dessert we've ever seen.
With peaches and raspberries baked into fluffy layers, peach-rosewater curd, and delicate frosting blooms, this four-tiered beauty is almost as lovely — or, dare we say it, lovelier — than the sculptural crop top that inspired it.
