60 Seconds With Georgia May Jagger

GMJ-embed-FINAL
When we spilled to a friend that we'd just interviewed the gorgeous Georgia May Jagger, our green-with-jealousy bud immediately blurted: "I want her teeth!" GMJ is one of our ultimate girl crushes, and for good reason. The daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, the stunning 19-year-old has been establishing a modeling career all her own, with notable campaigns with Rimmel London, Hudson Jeans, and, most recently, as the face of Just Cavalli For Her fragrance. We sat down for a Skype sesh with the model and got the details on the campaign, her beauty routine, and the most important style lesson that she's picked up along the way.

What was your first impression of the fragrance?

"It's very floral and fresh and feminine and sexy. I think you could definitely wear it every day. It works perfectly with the Cavalli brand, and I think it's very young and cool, so it's perfect."

How has your style been evolving lately?

"Well, I've definitely been inspired [by Just Cavalli] to wear more fancy, sexy dresses, whereas normally I'd simply wear jeans, even when I go out. So, it's been really fun. The Just Cavalli show was simply gorgeous. I was a huge fan of theirs, so I was so excited when they approached me about the fragrance. We shot it a long time before it came out, so there was a lot of anticipation for the campaign."

What style lessons did you learn from your parents?

"My mom just always says to have fun with fashion and not take it too seriously. She's always been quite colorful and flamboyant with her clothes — she's not the kind of person to wear all black! So I think she's passed that on to me. I love experimenting with clothes from her closet."

Where are your favorite places to shop?

"In New York, I love Opening Ceremony, Screaming Mimi's, and a shop called Relic. I love vintage shopping."

What's your beauty and skin care routine like?

"I mean, I'm working quite a lot at the moment, so I pretty much get my makeup done a lot. When I'm home, I'm not usually wearing that much makeup. I'll usually wear some perfume and some tinted moisturizer and maybe a bit of mascara. I try not to use too many products, but I've gotten into this store Live Live and I've been using their natural face products. Tracie Martyn is my favorite facialist, so I use her face wash every morning and night."

So, those awesome teeth of yours — they're really becoming your iconic look!

"Yeah, it's really funny, because I never thought about it that much. I almost got braces when I was younger. But I just decided that I didn't want to go through my teenage years wearing braces, and I'd rather just have my teeth and embrace it. I believe that being different is beautiful."

Now that you have your own full-blown career after growing up with such iconic parents, what are your thoughts on fame?
"I didn't spend much time in Hollywood, to be honest. I grew up in Surrey! So, my parents are just my parents. Obviously they're very talented people, but in our family, they're quite normal, I guess. In London, I don't really have a problem with paparazzi; I went to school, rode the tube, and that's all it is, I guess. You just have to live as normally as you can."
