Meet The Only Current Male Editor-In-Chief Of A Vogue Publication

Out of the 121 years that Vogue has been around, and the 20 editions that it operates around the world, there has only been two other male editors-in-chief (Michel de Brunhoff of French Vogue and Kazuhiro Saito for Vogue Nippon). 46-year-old Kullawit Laosuksri is the third for a Vogue title, and his first issue, which dropped last week, has already sold out across the country. Laosuksri was the editor-in-chief of Elle Thailand, is a flower shop owner, and also a jewelry designer for his own brand, Curios. He has a clear vision for integrating global fashion with local sensibilities, as is evident in his first cover: "We wanted a chada [the traditional tall coronet], which is internationally recognized and has a sophisticated design. We searched the archives of the master of the craft, Chakrabhan Posayakrit, and then asked Phillip Treacy, a world-renowned maker of headdresses, to create a chada we could display on our cover."
