Finally, You Can Read Up On Glamour's Buzzy Interview With The Prez

When Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive sat down with President Obama for an interview earlier this summer, the media reaction ranged from outrage to enthusiastic support. Now, the mag has released excerpts from Leive's interview online, and we have a few takeaways, right here:
First, we were relieved to read a thoughtful interview (kudos to Leive) and have the luxury of absorbing an interviewee's statements at our own pace, as opposed to watching campaign ads or snippets of time-constrained, heavily edited TV interviews. The president's responses are informed and informative, and we felt enlightened after reading it. (Yes, Jim Geraghty — enlightenment can come even from a ladies' mag.)

Glamour asked Qs based on reader polls that gauged interest in certain issues — the big winners were jobs; health care; and reproductive rights. Leive and the prez tackle each one in turn, and we're hoping this is a preview of the content of the debates, starting with tonight's discussion on the economy.
And there's some pop culture in there, too, natch: Glamour got the scoop on what the girls are listening to (Malia's into Motown — can we love her any more?), and their new hobbies. Oh yeah, and the prez gets really embarrassed by hip hop lyrics, even when they come from his pal Jay-Z.
Read the full interview over at Glamour, along with Leive's blog post about the experience. (Glamour)
