Deborah Lippmann Used To Bite Her Nails, Was Embarrassed Of Her Hands

One of the best tricks for chronic nail-biters to quell their oral fixations is a pretty coat of nail-polish. Deborah Lippmann used to be so embarrassed of her shredded nails, she'd shy away from holding a microphone onstage when she used to sing jazz in New York. A stint as a Bergdorf's manicurist later, she was approached to create her eponymous nail-polish line, and subsequently became the face of fun, luxury nails—one of the ultimate deterrents for nail-biting, in our opinion. So, for all you gals looking to keep the woodchuck tendencies to a bare minimum, may we suggest pulling a Lippmann, and launching your own mega-successful nail-polish company? (WWD)
