Cara Delevingne Spills About The Bag She Helped Design

Cara Delevingne describes her handbags of the past as "sacks." Ones with holes in them, to be specific. That's not exactly the kind you'd expect to see on a model who fronts campaigns for U.K. luxury brand Mulberry. But, that was high school, and things have changed entirely. Delevingne's very own collaboration piece — a Mulberry bag with backpack straps — is debuting this September, and the 21-year-old tells us all about it in the video above.
The one thing Cara wants to you know is that The Mulberry Cara Delevingne Collection is very much hers. Yes, of course, the professional designers played a sizable role, but the details of the carryall are personal to the muse who inspired it. As she says, it was important for her to create something practical, comfortable, and "not trying too hard," much like her own style. See the lion-shaped studs and "Made in England" stamp that mimic Cara's tattoos for proof.
Watch the candid video below to see what it really was like to cross over from model to designer. Hopefully that'll hold you over until pre-sale begins in August.
