The Simple Skin-Care Routine Jessica Biel Uses To Get Her Glow

Think back to the last time you saw Jessica Biel at an awards show. It doesn't matter which one, what she was wearing, or whether or not Justin Timberlake was holding her hand — the first thought on your mind was likely something along the lines of, Wow, Jessica Biel looks great.

The actress, who turns 38 today, has a signature glow that's partly natural radiance and partly thanks to her longtime makeup artist, Daniel Martin. "Though the four years I've worked with Jessica, I've learned that she is very purposeful about makeup," Martin tells us. "The glam is simply a complement to her natural beauty — so you'll never see her with rhinestones on her eyelids."

Ahead, Martin breaks down the products he always uses to give Biel that effortlessly glowy complexion. From a $7 Mario Badescu toner to an Honest Beauty lip balm (with a genius off-label use), scroll through to shop the star's very relatable top shelf.

At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile, and Lavender

"There's not a ton of moving parts when it comes to Jessica's skin-care prep," Martin explains. "It's basically two parts: toning and moisturizing. To start, I love this Mario Badescu lavender toner because it's calming and gives the skin a balanced refresh."

111Skin Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask

According to Martin, an eye mask makes a huge difference in brightening Biel's complexion. "Jessica has almond-shaped eyes and dry skin, so it's important to keep the skin around the eyes both lifted and hydrated," Martin says. "I love the 111Skin Celestial masks and will keep them in the fridge the night before and then pull them out so they're cool and refreshing on the skin."

Sisley Black Rose Eye Contour Fluid

Following the eye mask, Martin will then go in with a fancy French eye serum. "We use the Sisley Black Rose eye cream because it instantly illuminates any dark shadows under the eye," Martin says. (Of course, you can hack this step on a budget with any brightening eye cream that works for you.)

Tatcha Water Cream

"For moisturizer on Jessica, I use the Tatcha Water Cream," Martin tells us. "It's a great choice for keeping her dry skin hydrated, and mixes well with makeup."

Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer

Surprisingly, Martin tells us he doesn't typically use a foundation on Biel, but instead cocktails the above Tatcha moisturizer with this Dior concealer. "Jessica doesn't like the feel of makeup, so I've found that blending concealer with moisturizer creates this gorgeous veil for her skin," Martin explains. "The Dior Skin Correct concealer is full coverage, but the dry-down isn't matte, so I'll mix it with a little moisturizer and buff that into the skin for light coverage."

Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm

You can use this clear skin balm by Jessica Alba's brand Honest Beauty just about anywhere — that's why it's called Magic Balm — but Martin tells us the Jessica Biel-approved method is to use it under your eyes. "She slathers this stuff under her eyes to help with dryness," Martin tells us. "It's nice because it can sit on top of makeup and it won't disrupt it, but will just make dry or dull skin a little dewy."
