Kristen Stewart Gets The Medusa Treatment In This Balenciaga Ad

balenciaga
Though she's not exactly known for her ear-to-ear grin, the paler-than-thou star decided to take a more...how shall we put it...robotic-than-normal approach in the new ads for Balenciaga fragrance Florabotanica, posing stick-straight and somber in an equally stiff dress.
We love the dress and the ad looks pretty stunning, but if the fragrance turns you into a slightly damp mannequin, we might have to say no thanks. It's certainly an unorthodox approach for a fragrance ad, which usually feature scantily-clad celebs lounging luxuriously in 10-million-thread-count sheets – and props to K. Stew (and the brand) for challenging that. That said, it sounds like there might have been a slight misunderstanding between Kristen and photographer Steven Meisel, who, she says, told her to "just be comfortable."
What do you think of this literally statuesque look? Love it? Hate it? Before you answer, just know: She probably doesn't care for you either.
