Post Turkey Day Dress Prep: 3 Exercise Spots To Hit Up ASAP

Slide01
Thanksgiving is only the starting point of the eating and drinking frenzy that is the holiday season. From here it’s a blur of sweets in the office, carb-y sides at potlucks, and sugary cocktails at any number of parties…you get the picture. Our point is that it’s easy to feel like your indulgence-scale is at a solid 10 from November right up to January, and end up feeling pretty sluggish. Which is why now is the perfect time to start a new exercise routine that'll keep you from eating your way out of your favorite party dress. We’ve handpicked our top three L.A. fitness classes that will whip you into awesome shape (can you say toned abs, legs, and butt?) and get your energy levels way up (‘cause we all know mulled wine isn’t exactly a latte). These sweat spots will make burning calories fun (yes, we said it, FUN) and have you looking totally slammin’ by the new year. Winning!

Pop Physique
— This fitness boutique is all about small, personalized classes (those overcrowded ones are just no good). With seven locations around L.A. (including Silver Lake, Venice, Studio City, and more), the classes combine ballet with Pilates as well as mood-boosting tunes. The results? Toned abs, improved posture and flexibility and even a hotter sex life (well, that’s what they’ve heard from regulars, anyway). Talk about a perk worth dragging yourself to the gym for.

Locations in Silver Lake, Studio City, Westside, Seal Beach, Costa Mesa, Century City and West Palm Beach.

Tracy Anderson Method
— Any place that Gisele hits up to get her workout on is a-okay by us (also a favorite of Gwyneth Paltrow and Kirsten Dunst). This Studio City gym offers up classes that focus on toning, shaping, and cardio, peppered with a mix of modern dance and ballet. Dancing and sweating? Can’t be that bad. Yeah, except we've been there, and these classes are no joke.

Tracy Anderson Method, 12345 Ventura Boulevard, Suite L (at Laurelgrove Ave), Studio City; 818-762-3133.

Ballet Bodies
— This fitness studio draws from the basic fundamentals of Pilates and ballet techniques, and we're totally hooked. You take your pick from their range of inventive classes like Ballet 101 and Jump, which literally involves bouncing from trampoline to jump rope to jump-board and back again. Very curious. But also, very intense. It’s also a go-to for Natalie Portman, Ginnifer Goodwin and Julia Roberts. Sign us up!
