We Asked A Tarot Reader What The Future Holds For Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes — what, exactly? As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding approaches, the temptation to speculate wildly on what the future holds for them is very real. Sure, we could wait and see what happens as the months and years unfold naturally, but, honestly, we're impatient.
So, we turned to intuitive tarot reader and author Theresa Reed to help us take a closer look at the past, present, and future of the royal-couple-to-be. For her reading, Reed drew one card for each time period and discussed the significance of each one. From what she divined, it's hardly wild speculation to say that the future looks bright for these two.

Their Relationship
Nine of Pentacles

According to Reed, this card more than backs up Prince Harry and Markle's "love at first sight" meet-cute. "The beautiful, poised lady in this card shows that she stood out from the rest and caught his attention immediately," she says. "Since that time, he’s been lavishing her with love."

Reed also notes the castle in the background to the right. What could be seen as an extremely on-the-nose nod to Markle's royal future is actually a sign of their relationship's security — they found a stronghold in each other, so to speak.

For those who are still wondering about Prince Harry's tabloid-ridden past, the Nine of Pentacles has an answer for you. The hooded falcon on the woman's arm is "a sign that the former bad boy prince is truly tamed," Reed explains.

The Wedding Day
The World

For what could very well be the most public (and, therefore, stressful) day of this couple's life, the World is a welcome sign. "The World signals success, [so] they can expect that the wedding day will go off without a hitch," Reed says, adding that it suggests their best-laid plans will come together in the end. Sound too good to be true? That's usually the case when you pull the World card — as the final card in the tarot's Major Arcana, it represents accomplishments, success, and satisfaction. In a perfect world, everyone would draw this card for their wedding day.

The Future
Ace of Wands

This card is associated with fresh starts, Reed explains, suggesting that "this wedding may feel like a whole new chapter for Prince Harry and Meghan — but also for the royal family." After all, not every monarchy sees their prince marry a divorced, foreign commoner. But, Reed continues, this new beginning won't usher in a dark period for Prince Harry and Markle, or their families, for that matter — in fact, the Ace of Wands implies quite the opposite. "Because the Ace of Wands can indicate birth, it’s possible that it won’t be long before these two are expecting their first child," she says. "The future looks full of fun, love, passion, and promise."
