15 Movie Stripteases Every Bit As Magic As Mike's

With apologies to Ginuwine, we'll never be able to hear "Pony" again without picturing Channing Tatum's sexy moves from Magic Mike. Tatum is reprising his role as the stripper who just wants to weld unique furniture (we all have our dreams) in Magic Mike XXL, which comes out July 1. He and the boys aren't the first ones to take off their clothes slowly and seductively on film, though. Hopefully, they won't be the last.

Perhaps you need some more smooth, seductive moves to properly titillate you in anticipation of the second coming of Magic Mike. Or, maybe you just enjoy the fine art of a good striptease or burlesque performance. We were more than happy to put our noses to the grindstone and pour through cinematic history to find the best stripteases ever committed to film.

Click on through to watch. And remember: You can leave your hat on.

Channing Tatum, Magic Mike
If you listen very closely, you'll hear that "Pony" has an underlying beat of heavy panting. Feel free to sync yours to it while watching Tatum's performance.

Demi Moore, Striptease
The unofficial title of this number is "Frisky Business."

Salma Hayek, From Dusk Till Dawn
Well before Britney danced with that snake, Salma Hayek gave a seductive performance with a serpent in this Rodriguez / Tarantino joint.

Final scene, The Full Monty
Unemployed steel workers in Britain find another way to make some cash. No one complains.

Natalie Portman, Closer
"Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off, but it's better if you do."

Jennifer Aniston, We're the Millers
In the dramatic climax of this film, Aniston's character uses the fact that she's a stripper who's only pretending to be a suburban housewife to get her fake family out of a really tight jam with some drug traffickers.

Jennifer Beals, Flashdance
What a feeling, indeed.

"You Gotta Have a Gimmick," Gypsy
The best part about this number is that it demonstrates just how much stripteases don’t actually reveal. A successful one is all about clever misdirection.

Kim Basinger, 9 1/2 Weeks
Giving us all reason to live.
10 of 16
Christopher Walken, Pennies From Heaven
A tap-dancing striptease? Now that's misbehavin'.

“Take Off With Us,” All That Jazz
One second, they’re singing about airplanes. The next, they’re not talking about airplanes anymore, if you catch our drift.

Julie Andrews, Darling Lili
That's right: Mary Poppins herself engaged in a little burlesque tease in this lesser-known musical about a dance hall performer who becomes a German spy.
13 of 16
Natalie Wood, Gypsy
The original sparkly nude bodysuit wearer.

Oscar Nunez, The Proposal
Oscar Nunez wasn’t at the top of the list of actors we wanted to have a stripping scene in The Proposal (Ryan Reynolds was in the movie, after all), but sure, why not?
15 of 16
Matthew McConaughey, Magic Mike
A reminder that this is not the performance for which he won an Oscar, though.
