We Go Crazy For Louis Vuitton

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to show a collection of clothes for Louis Vuitton that were so beautiful, so colorful, and so epic that it managed to stun us out of our weary fashion show doldrums (it is the last day of the last leg of fashion week, after all). Sure, all of Marc's '80s references from his namesake line were there, including the vibrant colors, sharp-shouldered jackets, and big manes. But it was the way hues, textures, and proportions played out at Vuitton that made the electric so much more original: Big, pouf-shouldered dresses finished with a flowing teal bow, ruffled, voluminous jackets cinched in at the waist and paired with leather thigh-high boots inched up to there. Sheer blouses and lace frocks, printed shorts and ruched gloves added a dose of summertime to some otherwise fantastic coats and little jackets. And of course, there were the accessories: Luscious leather bags, flirty bowed platforms, and slightly kooky bunny ears. Just what the end of fall fashion week called for.
