In the past, we have shied away from serving big-batch drinks at our summer soirees, because so many of the recipes are too complicated, time-consuming, and expensive. Punches seem to require a ton of ingredients that we just don't have: specialized simple syrups and extracts, and often a single cup of something we will never use again.
Because I refuse to spend my time shopping for obscure ingredients and measuring out teaspoons of almond extract, I set out to find two-ingredient punches that will please any crowd. Two may seem like too few, but as long as your chosen liquids are intensely flavorful, you don’t need much else.
Ahead, you’ll find three of my favorite two-ingredient libations — complete with ratios, serving tips, and optional garnishes. They’re great for a crowd, but you don’t have to wait for a party to have one; these recipes are scalable and can be made for one or one hundred.
