Kurt Vile writes bittersweet songs about not doing much at all. That he isn’t particularly innovative doesn’t take away from how wistful his guitar sounds on "Ghost Town," or how his lyrics perfectly capture lackadaisical daydreaming. What may seem like a retread of well-worn rock territory is just Vile’s way of soundtracking the days where getting up from the couch to grab a beer may be all the energy we can muster.
