3 Types Of Scorpio You Should Get To Know

Did it just get a little...cooler in here? Sure, it could very well be the crisp autumn temps, but we'd also bet that it has something to do with the fact that it's officially Scorpio season, that time of year when everyone feels a little more seductive, secretive, and, well, cool.
This sign's aloof, enigmatic reputation didn't show up out of thin air. Some Scorpios really are as difficult to read as your average horoscope would suggest. But even this mysterious sign has its lighter moments. It's not all darkness here in Scorpio season — some people born under this sign are downright colorful (we're looking at you, Katy Perry).

No two Scorpios are the same. And as much as they probably hate the thought of their secrets being exposed, we're going to pull back the curtain on what makes them tick, in honor of their solar season. Read on to learn more about the complex personality types within the sign of Scorpio.

The Spy

The Spy

Whoever came up with the saying "an elephant never forgets" was probably a Scorpio, and they coined that expression to keep everyone else from learning that they're actually the ones with the vault-like memory. This type of Scorpio knows exactly how to redirect any amount of attention away from themselves and onto others. They're also the Scorps with a folder of receipts on anyone who's ever crossed them and a cold, penetrating stare that could freeze the warmest of interactions. Are they a little serious for some? Sure, but you can get them to come out of their shell with a bit of patience. Your friendship will likely start with them knowing roughly five times more about you than you do about them, but they'll really appreciate it if you stick with them. Heck, with enough time they might actually answer some of your questions.

The Partner In Crime

The Partner In Crime

This is the Scorpio you get when you really, really bond with a Spy. They're more open and willing to share — as long as you're willing to do the same — and they want to spend just about all their free time with you. Scorpios' intense loyalty is often overlooked, but once you notice it, you'll find that it's unshakeable. That said, make no mistake: The PIC's sense of intrigue is still completely intact. It's just that you're in on the secrets with them. Hanging out with a PIC can make you feel like you're part of some elite club. This type of Scorpio certainly has the potential to be your greatest friend in the world — just be careful not to let your whisper network of two become your entire world.

The Shapeshifter

The Shapeshifter

Scorpio is considered the sign of transformation for a very good reason. As much as this type of Scorpio may outwardly bemoan the idea of change, inwardly, they're already bracing for the shakeup, thrilling at the very thought of learning to adapt to a new state of affairs. This is the trendsetting, gadget-loving, and risk-taking Scorp. Like its fellow fixed sign, Aquarius, this type of Scorpio likes to keep one eye on the horizon, to know what's coming and how they might fit into it. These Scorpios can be difficult to get to know, as they appear to be always on the move, flitting from interest to interest (or, in the case of more literal Shapeshifters, from look to look). Similar to the Partner In Crime, this Scorp still responds to loyalty. Show them that you care about them no matter what season they're wearing and they'll know you're a true pal.
