Beer Me: An iPhone Case That Opens Your Beer

You can find your car with your iPhone, discover what song is playing on the radio, and even download an application that lets you know how the weather is going to affect your hair (oh, and this bikini). Now, Reuters is reporting that two Australian entrepreneurs are creating a hard plastic iPhone 4 case called “Opena” that has a slide-out bottle opener. (We're amazed a drunk NYU student didn’t come up with this idea.) Melbourne-based Chris Peters, an industrial designer who developed the product with Rob Ward, a former toolmaker, told Reuters.com, "We're always out at friends' houses and so on, and in some cases you may not have your keys on you... So we thought, why don't we attach a bottle opener to an iPhone case? We always have our phones on us." They created a promotional video (below) termed “worst case scenario” which shows a friend shaking a beer and the foams spills onto the case and the phone. This scenario didn’t ruin the case, and more importantly the iPhone. The only thing wasted was one less beer. We wonder what’s next. A corkscrew case for us wine drinkers? Hey, we're in the Hamptons right now if you wanna ship it over.

The product is now available for pre-order on openacase.
