These Beauty Looks Are Made For Festival Season

Let's be honest: Festival style has gotten a little...predictable. While that whole nouveau bohemian/hippie thing was chic for a while, and we fawned over all of the braids, torn denim, flowing tops, and oversized hats, we're thinking it might finally be time to shake it up.
Luckily, the runways — both fall/winter 2015 and spring/summer 2015 — gave us plenty of inspiration to do it right. Guido Palau was musing on '90s rave backstage at (the newly defunct) Marc by Marc Jacobs show, where the bare-faced models wore knotted faux hawks that looked slightly subversive. Makeup artist Yadim (he did that Rihanna cover) mentioned raves at the Peter Som show, where elements of neon kept creeping up over and over again. The Marques'Almeida and Maxime Simoens shows were also inspired by girls at the festivals — whether they were in the throes of all the colorful goodness (the former), or attempting to re-enter the world but couldn't wash the technicolor dye out of their hair in time (the latter).
With our recent obsession with all things '90s, it only seems appropriate that rave culture gets its moment. That said, we know most of you won't be trying out the looks you see here..but, in case you find yourself at Coachella, or Gov Ball, or Glastonbury, or Ultra, or whatever the hell it is, maybe you'll consider a dash of neon and a good wig? You'd be surprised at just how much the nightlife has to offer when you make your entrance.
