Every now and then, you meet someone whose style ethos is so different from your own that it almost feels like you've been struck by a bolt of sartorial lightning. That's exactly how it felt when we first discovered local architect Monling Lee through Instagram. A native of Taiwan who grew up in the Maryland suburbs, Lee's bold approach to colorblocking and penchant for a mind-boggling number of layers hooked us at first glance, but we quickly learned to appreciate her attention to silhouette, too.
So, naturally, we had to get some face time with Lee, and see if her closet was as much of a Crayola dream as we'd hoped. It was — and her approach to getting dressed left us feeling truly inspired (and ready to banish all-black forever). Click through to meet her and get a peek into her brightly hued world.
