Well, then. Here's a Friday afternoon treat: Lancôme has announced that the beauty brand will be teaming up with American designer (and recent Presidential headline maker) Jason Wu for a limited-edition cosmetics collection that will hit stores this September. With Celia Birtwell teaming up with UNIQLO and DKNY releasing its archives to Opening Ceremony, this well-paired Jason Wu x Lancôme announcement is the icing on an already decadent week for fashion news.
Wu is no wallflower when it comes to runway beauty — witness Spring 2013's bold brow and pow! red lip — but this marks the designer's first foray into the cosmetic world. And, for the record, Lancôme seems to be enamored with his style. "By partnering with Jason, we are able to reach an even more fashion-savvy and sophisticated woman," Silvia Galfo, Lancôme's Senior Vice President of Marketing, said to WWD. While no other details have been released, we're speculating Wu will preview the line backstage at his runway show next week. Our eyes: peeled. (WWD)
