How To Take The Best Bath Of Your Life

When I was little, bath time was a highly anticipated part of my day. I would empty multiple bottles of bubble bath into the water and then hop into my frothy, overflowing tub where I (and a few Barbies) would splash around until my fingers and toes were prune-y and the water had cooled to room temperature.
Over the years, the products I put into my bath have gotten a bit of an upgrade and, unfortunately, Barbie no longer frequents my tub. But, my love for bath time? That hasn’t changed at all. In fact, I’ve been known to pick a hotel specifically for its exceptional bathtub (seriously, though, look up the Coqui Coqui in Mérida, Mexico, and tell me you wouldn’t do the same). And, I cancel Saturday-night plans on the regular in favor of a date with my bath.
Of course, I’m not alone in my passion. People have been luxuriating in bathing rituals for centuries, and pretty much every culture has its own version, from Turkish hammams to Japanese onsen. And, as my personal beauty guru Derek Zoolander once said, “Wetness is the essence of beauty.” What further proof do you need?
Not all baths were created equal. Here’s what you need to take the best one, ever.
