Fashion week can be summed up in one phrase: Love hurts. For designers, interns, and press alike, the task of revealing and reporting on the collections as they're unveiled in rapid succession is no picnic. Running in heels, waiting on lines, squeezing through crowds, and dodging crazed interns takes serious agility. And our reward? Recession swag. But it's far too often that goodie bags deliver little more than a write-up of the show, some coupons, and a bottle of water. Luckily we found a few events and businesses that are willing to take the edge off fashion week with these perks and freebies.

Breakfast
—Fashion students on a budget, take heed! While you're sprinting to Bryant Park on September 10th, stop by The Royalton Hotel for your fashion week breakfast to-go. Get Fruit, carbs, yogurt, and Naked juice with your morning literature (WWD) for only $5.00. This little luxury runs right on through the 17th.

YSL Totes
—A celebratory give-away of YSL totes filled out by the newest issue Manifesto V is happening in fashion capitols worldwide September 12th. It's a toss-up... we're not sure exactly where they'll be distributed in New York, but if you find them before 2,000 others do, it's all yours.

Appetizers
—If at any point you need a reason to escape the madness of Bryant Park for a couple hours you can head to the upper east side for some award winning Italian food at Alloro Restaurant. They're offering a free appetizer or dessert with every entrée when you mention the word "Fashion" for the duration of fashion week.

Swag Bag
—We like to party! For free! Webster Hall is hosting New York Couture's fashion show and after-party on September 12th. We can't promise that you won't feel out of place without neon hair extensions, but you get a bag'o'swag if you're one of the first 100 people to walk in, which is nearly enough to make up for the questionable "fashion".

Silk Scarf
—Fashion week guests staying at The Mark Hotel on East 77th have the chance to cop a silk Carlisle scarf—a limited edition design produced exclusively for the hotel. While there, make sure to check out the fashion-week-timed makeover the Carlisle also gave the entire staff and hotel interior.

Free Facials
—As part of the much anticipated Fashion's Night Out festivities, you and your friends can all get free skin care consultations and facials at Revive Skincare at Saks. As if you don't already know, this event is happening September 10th.

Free Sharpies—If you can't get your hands on some of these perks, you might as well hang around the Sharpie-sponsored tents all week. We're sure you'll get a free pen at some point.
