An Easy Way To Upgrade Your Braid

Here’s a fact of life at Refinery29: We love braids — everything from French to fishtail to chic chignons. As Pinterest continues its plot of world domination, it seems that we’ve tried just about every style under the sun — and then some. That's why it was so funny when the four-strand walked down the runways at Donna Karan’s spring show: It was simple, shiny, and easy as pie. What more could we want?

Celebrity hairstylist Peter Butler, who tends to the manes of stars including Claire Danes and Kate Upton, knows a thing or two about low-maintenance, no-fuss hair. And, while he’s probably best known for executing a badass blowdry that could elevate any girl's tresses to campaign status, he, too, thinks the four-strand feels fresh for right now.

So, we had Peter show one of our staffers how to get the look herself (disclaimer: She has the most enviable head of red hair you ever did see), and then we styled her in a chic little beanie and great lipstick.
