We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Westboro Baptist Church—the same group of Kansas evangelicals who celebrate the deaths of American soldiers as proof of God's hatred of homosexuals—to New York Fashion Week. Hey, guys! The New York Post reports that the fanatical flock will be protesting near Lincoln Center because, in the words of their public representative, Steve Drain, "The whole thing is vanity!… The whole idea [of the] fashion industry is to make women look as whorish as possible and men look as effeminate at possible.” Well, someone's bitter about not getting an an invite to Marc Jacobs, isn't she? Nonetheless, the group seems to have a basic understanding of what goes on at NYFW. "Put some jeans on and fear God,” says Drain. “Forget about all this fashion nonsense.” Indeed, it's good to rock a casual look during the week and decompress every night with a favorite book or hobby. He continued, “The fashion industry is dominated by fags and fag enablers.” We don't like your language—but too true, sister, too true. In any case, if you run into these cuties outside of Lincoln Center, remember to give them your best air kisses and hook them up with some front-row makeup swag. (New York Post)
