Avocado Oil Is Giving Coconut Some Competition

Remember just last week when we told you apple cider vinegar was the new coconut oil? Well, we might've spoken too soon, because, as brought to light by Elle, it looks like avocado oil is giving them both some stiff competition.
It was only a matter of time until this beloved fruit (no, that's not a typo: it's a fruit) made its way out of our salads and sandwiches and onto our skin and hair. But, the green gunk can get a bit messy, which is where the oil form comes into play. We were already introduced to this phenomenon by way of Lupita Nyong'o, who stated that she regularly uses it in her beauty routine. And, if her baby-soft, flawless, ridiculously perfect skin isn't living proof of the oil's effects, then we don't know what is.
Writer Cheryl Wischhover took on the task of exploring the product's different uses — she tried it out on her skin as a makeup remover and on her body as a moisturizer. She also notes that it works well as a leave-in or deep conditioner, particularly for those with natural hair. But, the question remains: Is it worthy of replacing the all-mighty coconut oil and/or apple cider vinegar? You'll have to head over to the site to find out. (Elle)
