Rad or Bad: A DIY Eyelash-Growth Serum?

lash-growth-embed
If you do any hanging out around these parts, you know that we love ourselves a good DIY project — especially when it comes to a homegrown beauty treatment (cheaper and all-natural? Count us in). That is, until we came across this post on hair and makeup artist Sunnie Brook's awesome blog. A DIY eyelash growth serum? With castor oil?
Don't get us wrong, we're all for an alternative to Latisse and its strange side effects, and as a total beauty pro, we tend to trust whatever Sunnie sends our way. But when it comes to a treatment that goes, you know, on our eyes, we're a little bit squeamish. A combination of aloe, vitamin E, and castor oil is probably harmless, and yet, it gives us pause.

Maybe it's because castor oil has traditionally been used to treat constipation (and, allegedly, to induce labor in pregnant women) that this beauty recipe is disconcerting — the whole digestive system-eyeball connection just doesn't do it for us.
Would you try this DIY project if it promised longer lashes? Or would you rather stick to tried and tested eyelash conditioners? (Sunnie Brook)
Now Foods Castor Oil, $7.09, available at Soap.com.
