OPI Meets Dali In Its Surreal Short Film: Instinct Of Color

The master brand of all things nail-related, OPI, launched its first — and surprisingly artistic — short film campaign. Instinct of Color features four dancers wearing the brand's popular lacquers: Pink-ing of You, Red My Fortune Cookie, Need Sunglasses?, and No Room for the Blues. Yet, the real star happens to be an impressive thoroughbred horse called Lady in Black, which makes her surrealistic dance debut.
Though OPI's creative film could have been a mere commercial, it pushes creative boundaries when the dancers begin a strange dance-off with Lady in Black — yes, the horse. While sporting her own array of polish colors, Lady in Black gives the dancers some pretty tough competition when she begins effortlessly tap dancing.

OPI executive vice president and artistic director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann said, "With a trained thoroughbred who could replicate the dancers’ moves with very little digital enhancement, we were able to capture the unique, energetic, and creative culture that epitomizes the OPI brand." We applaud this nail polish extraordinaire's decision to think really outside of the box. Our only hope is that no horses (or hooves!) were harmed in the making of this film.
