Whit’s Spring 2012 Collection Has Us Heading For The Playground

There are a lot of unfortunate things about becoming an adult. Besides having to hold down a job, be responsible with money, and wear pants outside, you also have less play-dates, less time for naps, and you can't sculpt Play-Doh (at least not without getting stares). Major bummer. But, for those of us who are still children at heart, Whit's new spring '12 collection captures the whimsy of our younger years with colorful, playful patterns in oh, so chic yet relaxed silhouettes. They're perfect for these awkward years when we're still technically bound to an office but feel like we belong outside. The Aztec-inspired prints, bold colors, and flirty cuts make for a great entrance into spring that we're wishing we could wear right now. We're also totally smitten with the comic book-esque drawings in the lookbook itself done by Mary Matson with photos by Lilia Degregory, as well as the model's subdued reactions to snakes and scorpions (because freaking out is so not chic). The overall effect reminds us of Harold And The Purple Crayon, if Harold had impeccable taste.
