UPDATE: Cinnamon Bun Oreos are the real deal, but we still don't know when we'll be able to try them. "We are excited to confirm that Cinnamon Bun OREO cookies are real. As soon as we have more information and a confirmed release date, we will be sure to let cookie lovers know," explained a spokesperson for Oreo in an email. With all of the crazy-amazing new Oreo flavors that have come out this year, you have to think that at some point the cookie wizards at Nabisco would run out of good flavor ideas. Nothing against the iconic cookie company, but between S’mores, Brownie Batter, and, most recently, Toasted Coconut, we were waiting for a flub or two. But as soon as we started to doubt the possibility of more equally enticing limited-edition flavors, Oreo proved us wrong. So what exactly is the latest flavor from Oreo? It’s Cinnamon Bun! Basically, Oreo took our favorite breakfast pastry of all time and turned it into a cookie, which we can then dunk in milk, or drink with coffee, or even eat with a real cinnamon bun for a very meta treat-eating experience. Cinnamon Bun Oreos start with a cinnamon-flavored cookie and are then filled with what the company is calling “cinnamon bun-flavored creme.” We’re not exactly sure what that means, but we definitely want to find out. The Impulse Buy first reported the sighting, and, apparently, the new cookies will hit shelves next month. We’ve reached out to our Oreo rep and will update this post as soon as we get more information. Until then, it looks like we’ve got a Cinnamon Bun-flavored mystery on our hands.
