If you build it, he will come. And if you do a cover of "Drunk in Love" that goes viral, Beyoncé will come. Eventually. Though we've been expecting him to pop up on pal Taylor Swift's 1989 tour, Ed Sheeran had a different duet date planned. The British singer had a major moment when he joined Queen Bey on stage for an acoustic rendition of "Drunk in Love" at Saturday's Global Citizen Festival in New York City. Not surprisingly, the crowd went wild. It's a little odd to hear Sheeran crooning about what essentially amounts to wanting to sex up Jay Z, but his stripped-down take is still sexy in an old-school John Mayer kind of way. He and Beyoncé also seemed to take extra pleasure in cooing "surfboard" in unison. We need that GIF now, please. Here's hoping the singers celebrated with cigars on ice after the show.
