Ever since we found out earlier this year that Malala Yousafzai's story was being made into a movie, we've been impatiently waiting in hot anticipation of its release. And while the film won't hit theaters until October, today we were gifted with a new trailer for He Named Me Malala — and it's enough to tide us over for the time being.
"I'm still 17. I'm still a teenager," Yousafzai said in the opening moments. That may be true, but the Nobel Peace Prize winner has wisdom, and guts, well beyond her years. "There is a moment where you have to choose whether to be silent or to stand up," says.
No joke: We got a little teary during the trailer, so we can only imagine what we'll be like during the full-length film.
And just what was the one line that tugged our heartstrings? "They thought that the bullet would silence us. But I am the same Malala." See the trailer below:
