In case you hadn't heard, Justin Bieber is releasing a new single on August 28. Everyone from Kendall Jenner to Larry King has been promoting Bieber's newest tune on social media. The track is called "What Do You Mean?" In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, the Biebs said that the lyrics are about how "Girls are often flip-floppy. They say something, and then they mean something else." When discussing the sonic elements of another new song with The New York Times, Bieber noted that, "They're very expensive sounding sounds." How is he not yet the Canadian poet laureate? Page Six is now reporting that his handlers are muzzling Bieber even further on his current promotional tour, and this is probably why.
Those are just quotes from interviews about his music. In the past, an unrestrained Bieber has done things like written, "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber," in the guest book at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. When Rolling Stone asked the singer about politics in 2011, he replied, "I’m not sure about the parties. But whatever they have in Korea, that’s bad.” Last June, he issued an apology after a video surfaced in which a young Bieber used racial slurs and told an off-color joke. In addition to verbal and writing snafus, Bieber has also gotten in trouble with the law several times.
"Justin Bieber’s reps aren’t taking any chances the unpredictable pop brat will embarrass himself on a New York media blitz to promote his newest single, two years after his last world tour ended," Page Six writes. In order to ensure that his comeback isn't derailed by Bieber himself, Page Six claims that the singer is only being allowed to do pre-taped interviews to promote his new single. He's apparently too much of a loose cannon to be allowed to go off script.
Bieber's reps couldn't be reached for comment. Baby, baby, baby, oh no. (Page Six)
