This Is How Selena Gomez Does High-Low Dressing

As we continue to toil through the tail-end of hot, sweaty, sticky summer, we find ourselves wishing that cool, layering weather would arrive soon — especially when celebrities keep dressing a season ahead. Take Selena Gomez, for example, who was spotted Wednesday in New York City (yep, where it’s absolutely, insufferably soupy outside) in a combination of autumnal textures.
Weather be damned; celebrities — traveling in their chauffeured, climate-controlled SUVs and luxuriating in air-conditioned sound stages — don’t have to endure the same temperatures as us non-famous folk. (Stars: They're not just like us.) Which is why Gomez was able to pull off a killer outfit that makes us want a 55-degree day to happen, right now.
The singer-actress effortlessly blended a high-low ensemble: a ribbed, cropped, light-gray sweater by Topshop and a knife-pleated, black-leather skirt by Givenchy. Giving a slight nod to August (and allowing for some ventilation), Selena opted for a pair of wide-strapped mules from high-street brand Kurt Geiger. Finally, her futuristic Dior So Real shades finished off her edged-up, fall-ready look — and completed that whole high-low equation.
