Game Of Thrones Dropped Some Major News At Comic-Con

Members of the Game of Thrones cast made a special appearance at Comic-Con on Friday, and at least one burning question was finally answered. Stannis Baratheon is totally dead. If you remember, there's a scene during the season 5 finale in which Brienne appears to deliver Baratheon a swift death — so swift that some wondered if he was really killed, since we didn't see his actual last breath. (And, there's no show on TV less unafraid to show us a dead guy than Game of Thrones.) David Nutter, who directed the episode, confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Stannis is done for, regardless of what we did or didn't see. "From the very beginning, and [through] the script process, that was the intent," Nutter told EW. "He's dead." Well, now that that's settled, how about Jon Snow? Yes, we all know he's dead. Unlike Baratheon, we saw his death. Or...did we? Fans aren't convinced. During the GoT panel, a fan asked if Melisandre would perhaps revive Snow using her crafty magic. Carice van Houten, who plays Melisandre, claimed ignorance. "I'm as in the dark as you are," she told the crowd. "But who knows, man?" To recap: Baratheon is dead. Snow is maybe not dead. And Melisandre is the new title holder of knowing nothing.
