Two days after her birth, the royal princess has finally been given a name. And, despite the bookies' odds, it's not Alice. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have just revealed that their newborn daughter will be called Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana," Kensington Palace announced in a statement. "The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge." The Telegraph reports that Charlotte had been the favorite to be chosen. Not only is the name a nod to Prince Charles, but it also references Princess Charlotte, who died in 1817. Elizabeth, of course, is a tribute to the Queen, while Diana commemorates William's late mother, Princess Diana. A lovely name for a royal princess. Welcome to the world, Princess Charlotte.
