Jennifer Lawrence is many things; above all else, the A-lister is entirely relatable. That extends beyond her humor, personality, and taste in snacks to her totally enviable off-duty style, which pretty much anyone can emulate (replicating her career, on the other hand, would be a different story).
Take the outfit she wore to travel to New York City over the weekend: It doesn't get much more minimalist than a white top and black pants. But, rather than looking like she threw together a few boring separates, the resulting look was sleek and smart — even if she didn't spend a whole lot of time fretting over it.
The reason her outfit works so well is that each piece is subtly special on its own. The slightly cropped white Theory tank is in of-the-moment mesh, while the Helmut Lang pants are perfectly cropped and just slouchy enough to be both comfortable and cool. Lawrence's double dose of studded accessories, with her Louis Leeman loafers and Coach tote, lends her look a little kick of star-powered glamour. But, the overall effect isn't so fancy that you couldn't imagine being friends with her, or cribbing the whole look for yourself.
