Gigi Hadid Makes The Case For Shoulder Pads

We all have our power pieces: wardrobe staples we love and feel comfortable in. They're what we put on when we want to get in the zone. It could be a killer interview outfit or a pair of shoes that make every step feel particularly strong. Gigi Hadid is no different. When heading to work earlier this week — in her case, to go to a photo shoot in New York — the 20-year-old model pulled out the ultimate power piece from her wardrobe: old-school shoulder pads. Hadid strutted around set on Wednesday in loose, low-neck overalls over a simple camisole, sleek leather boots, and mirrored sunglasses. As if her off-duty game wasn't strong enough, Gigi's threw on her power piece: a cropped, fitted blazer with strong, structured shoulders. Excuse us while we dig through our basements to find some long-forgotten pads of our own.  This #TBT detail feels all the more resonant on Thursday, for obvious reasons — so, we'll be scheduling a trip to the thrift store this weekend.
