Pregnant Zooey Deschanel Misses Wine, Just Like You Would

The adorable (and yes, ok we'll say it — adorkable) actress Zooey Deschanel, who rather awesomely called out gender stereotypes surrounding pregnancy in an interview with InStyle magazine last year, continues her penchant for being a fantastically honest mama-to-be in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

"You can't eat so many things when you're pregnant!” lamented the New Girl star, who is expecting her first child with fiancée Jacob Pechenik this summer. "You can't have sushi. You can't have cheese that tastes good."

"You can't have alcohol. I miss that, I like wine."  Really, who wouldn’t? It’s damn delicious, and may even be quite good for you … if you’re not pregnant, of course.

And, those morning wake up calls get a little harder, thanks to those pesky caffeine restrictions: "You can have a little bit [of coffee], but I would have, like, four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke! It's a total joke!"

As for the gender of this sure-to-be-sweet baby, “we are going to be surprised,” Deschanel told Kimmel. We just wonder: Will he/she be born with amazing bangs? Or is that something you have to grow into?
