The Surprising Way Lyft Is Empowering Women To Find Jobs

There’s a long
list of reasons why Lyft is quickly becoming the go-to ride-sharing app. From
its quirky company culture to its community involvement to its advocating for women
drivers
, the San Francisco-based company is paving a progressive path.

And, now, it
can add one more feather to its cap. In celebration of National Women’s Day, Lyft is partnering with the global nonprofit Dress
For Success
to donate up to 1,000 free rides to the organization's clients, ensuring them reliable transportation to job interviews. According to Dress For Success, this is one of the biggest setbacks the women it helps face when looking for work, so it's pretty major that Lyft is pitching in.

But, the company's commitment to empowering women doesn't stop at free rides. A few months ago, Lyft partnered with anti-assault organizations like Stop Street Harassment and Hollaback! to raise awareness around the issue. And, it's also pretty noteworthy that the ride-sharing app's board is 50% women — a rarity in the tech space. We can't wait to see what it comes up with next. Want to help out on the current campaign? For each interviewing tip you share on Twitter, Instagram, Vine, or Facebook with #RidesToSuccess, Lyft will donate a free ride.
