Rihanna Reveals What It Means To Be A Bad Gal In 2015

Sharks are having a moment. Katy Perry "danced" with some at the Super Bowl, and now Rihanna's swimming with them — literally. Harper's Bazaar put pop's resident bad gal in a tank with three sand tiger sharks for its March 2015 issue. The magazine spun the Norman Jean Roy concept as a metaphor for its interview. Rihanna swims with sharks because, well, such is life. She fends off the figurative questions with the effortlessness only Rihanna can bring. "I try my best to avoid the sharks of life, but I have had my share of experiences with them, and in those cases I just have to handle them accordingly," she says responding to a very specific question about how she learned to swim with sharks. "But I do not swim with sharks…sharks swim with sharks." Duh. The rest of the interview, done in December, is like a laundry list of reflections on the past and her goals for the new year. (Where's that album, honey?) She doesn't allude to much about her eighth studio LP, but with her admission that she doesn't know how to spell "censorship" and that her wish for 2015 is to keep doing what she's been doing, expect unadulterated Rihanna. What does Rihanna say when Harper's asked her what it takes to be a Bad Gal in 2015? "You're about to find out."  Read Rihanna's full interview here or when Harper's Bazaar's March 2015 issue hits stands February 17.
