Did Katy Perry Just Throw Shade At Beyoncé?

Katy Perry picked the wrong woman to shade. The singer of self-empowerment anthems like "Roar" and "Firework" continued her Super Bowl promotion tour with another subtle dig at her Grammy winning peers.
Perry just really wants us to know that she didn't shell out any money to score the coveted half-time show performance. This comes after a rumor the NFL was courting other performers like Coldplay and Rihanna — in addition to Perry — to pay to play. "I put my foot down very early in the courtship," Perry said, dismissing the allegations. "I said, 'Look guys, here's where I draw a line in the sand.' I want to be invited on my own merits and not with some fine print. I stuck to my position...I don't even care if my contract leaks...I have nothing to hide, basically.""
For the record, Beyoncé wasn't paid a dime for her Super Bowl show. Her leaked contract claimed that production costs were more than what the NFL was going to reimburse anyway. Was Perry throwing a little bit of shade in the Queen's direction? Perhaps. She certainly isn't holding back from fueling her Taylor Swift feud flames — though she did say her "intention is that everyone talks about the music and nothing else." Alright, well, let's talk when said music earns some Grammys because right now it's Beyoncé: 17 (14 solo and 3 with Destiny's Child); Taylor Swift: 7; Katy Perry: 0. (The AP)
