The Golden Globes Nominations Have A Few Surprises

Photo: Karwai Tang/WireImage.
The Golden Globes tend to throw Hollywood a curveball. And, while today's nominations announcement was for the most part very much in line with awards-season buzz, there were certainly some surprises.
For starters, where on Earth did Jane the Virgin come from? Is the cast of Modern Family reeling with shock? Is Quvenzhané Wallis ready to lay the smack down on Helen Mirren and Julianne Moore? Could Lorde, John Legend, or Lana Del Rey win big? Why no love for Timothy Spall? Can we pretty much assume that Interstellar and Unbroken are getting nada this year? And, isn't Girls show-runner Jenni Konner's observation pretty awesome?
