Matthew McConaughey is really good at speeches. Whether he' s weaving bizarre tales about chasing himself 10 years in the future (as he did during his Oscar acceptance speech), or being blindfolded on spaceships to Neptune (as he did at the SAG awards), the man sure knows how to orate.
Just ask the Texas Longhorns, who were treated to a mid-practice speech from the actor last week. McConaughey is a proud Texan and a massive football fan, so you can bet when the opportunity to inspire his alma mater's team was presented to him, the actor held nothing back.
"Why do I play this game? Why am I doing this? Why do I come out to practice? Why am I out here busting my ass in the middle of the heat every day?" He begged the players to ask themselves. The answer for most of them was likely: "So we could one day meet you, Mr. McConaughey" — but most of them were too star-struck to admit it. So how did the actor lighten the mood? By leading a Wolf of Wall Street chest-thumping chant, of course.

As you may have guessed, the Longhorns went on to win their next game, and it wasn't even close. (And, in related news, every football team ever is currently in search of movie star mystics to fill any and all head coaching positions.)
McConaughey can next be seen in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi saga, Interstellar , when it hits theaters on November 7. But, if he decides to exclusively give speeches for the rest of his career, that's fine by us too. Watch below.
