It's hard to overstate Kate Moss' influence. The woman's career has spanned nearly three decades, and she's left a deep, inimitable mark on the way we dress — and do our hair and makeup. Kate is "our generation's most significant fashion icon," writes Jefferson Hack, editor-in-chief of AnOther Magazine (who is also her ex-boyfriend and the father of their daughter, Lila Grace). "She changed the history of fashion by breaking the rules as a model, channeling the 'don't give a fuck' attitude of the noughties into a powerful signature stance of defiance." In its recent issue, the magazine took a closer look at the model's ahead-of-the-times style, including those iconic hair looks.
In her memorable Calvin Klein ads, she sported roughed-up, slicked-back strands, possibly one of the first models to do so. Her 2001 pixie cut sent tongues wagging — though not as much as the bright-red wig she wore on the Galliano runway in 1997. And, the long, loose waves she's been sporting lately? Bring on all the imitators.
To get the full rundown on Kate's nearly 30 years of greatness, head over to AnOther. There's a lot more to learn about her, and they've got ALL the must-know stats.
