Just look at the small screen: Tiny House Nation premieres on A&E tonight to document the rising demand for very little abodes. While the average U.S. home is 2,300 square feet, according to the show, it will feature pads that average one tenth of that size.
In the series, renovation experts and hosts John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin will travel across the country to showcase inventive spaces and help families build their own streamlined (and downsized) outposts — all under 500 square feet. Check out the preview on A&E offshoot FYI and tune in to see the tight quarters tonight at 10 p.m. We'll be watching with our petite New York apartments in mind, and cautious optimism for seeing that three-bathrooms-and-a-two-car-garage American dream continue to fade.
