The true elusive chanteuse that is Allie X is on to something. She has, rather brilliantly, combined the homemade, lo-fi Lana Del Rey aesthetic with Tumblr culture and spun it through some CHVRCHES machine. Sure, it's a lot, but it works.
Her latest video for "BITCH" plays out like some Stepford Wife scene if the Stepford Wives were '90s girls. She parades around a grocery store throwing random items in her cart, all while sing-yelling that she's our bitch and we are hers. Pac-Man makes a cameo, too.
"BITCH" might not be the runaway hit of Summer 2K14, but it's enough to keep an eye on Allie X. She's still in that slow-burn, what's-going-on-here stage in the game. Though, if we were the gambling type, we'd bet some pretty stakes that this girl's name will be on all our tongues come fall. We're her bitches, after all.
