The two wed at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California in a beautiful lawn ceremony. More than 250 guests attended the event, including Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Alba, and Topher Grace. Prior to exchanging vows, the couple held a rehearsal dinner on Thursday night and a Fourth of July barbecue. For their first formal appearance as husband and wife, the pair entered the venue to the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." Anyone who's a Love Actually fan will find that especially romantic.
This wedding was a bit of a surprise, since Simpson recently said the two hadn't set a specific date. "We don't have an actual [wedding] date, but we do know that we want it to be this year. We need to get married!" she told E! in an interview earlier this year.
But, she did say it feels like they're already an old, married couple. Simpson says raising their two children — Maxwell, age two, and Ace, age one — has set them up for success. "I already feel like we're an old married couple. Like, if he wanted to run, he could've run when I was hormonal and pregnant," she told E!.
And, just like that, our memories of the pop star eating canned tuna fish on the couch are replaced with the new image of a blushing bride.
