Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams Used To Hate Each Other

You just read that headline and I know what you're thinking: There's no way those two have felt anything but love for each other, you dirty, terrible journalist. Well, it's true: Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were not always the perfect on-screen couple we now know them to be. In fact, when they were filming The Notebook, Gosling wanted her off the set.
Director Nick Cassavetes shared this controversial information in a recent interview with VH1. One day, after an especially bad bout of on-set arguing, Gosling approached Cassavetes: "He says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off-camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this.'" How he could possibly feel that way really grinds my gears, but Cassavetes continues. "We went into a room with a producer; they started screaming and yelling at each other. I walked out. At that point I was smoking cigarettes. I smoked a cigarette and everybody came out like, 'All right, let's do this.' And it got better after that, you know? They had it out. The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing."
Maybe that's why their real-life romance was so on-and-off. Still, is nothing sacred? Many of us prefer to live in a world in which every time they pass each other in famous-people land, they do this. (HuffPost)
