This year's Met Gala is themed around the legendary couturier Charles James, which means a white-tie dress code will be on tap. That also means that, sadly, there will be way fewer opportunities for crazypants red carpet moments than say, 2013's tribute to punk or 2008's superhero theme. But, all is not lost; our favorite 4-year-old fashion designer — that would be Mayhem — is keeping the kookier Met Gala dresses of yore alive with her latest batch of construction-paper DIYs.
Posted to Vogue's Instagram this weekend, Mayhem's latest creations mimic Sarah Jessica Parker's tartan-and-tulle McQueen gown from 2006, Florence Welch's three-tiered confection from 2012, even the gender-bending Dolce & Gabbana tux that announced Rihanna as a major fashion risk-taker in 2009. Mayhem was unable to speak with Vogue about the specifics of her latest collection (due to an important date with a swing set), but she did reveal how she achieved her stunning level of design prowess: "I just learned it up," she said.
