Ladies’ Home Journal Is Folding

Maybe it's naive, but we thought we were over the print collapse for a minute there. In an unfortunate turn of events, Ladies' Home Journal is the latest magazine to cease printing. The iconic publication has been a stalwart in the magazine world for a whopping 131 years. According to Ad Age, parent company Meredith decided to shutter the title as a result of declining advertising sales. As a result of the closure, the entire editorial staff was laid off this morning.
Ad Age also reported that LHJ will now transition into a special interest publication that will sell only only on newsstands. The new version is expected to be released this fall and the website will also continue to publish. The fate of the business team is still up in the air — they may be given positions within Meredith's other books. The July issue will be the last of Ladies' Home Journal as we know it, so make sure to snatch up a piece of history. (Ad Age)
